I have one question, when i'm using "like" to say "for example" before like i must write a gerund or a noun ? for example : The program says to do one thing LIKE BEING (?) a game or The program says to do one thing LIKE BE a game?
I think is the first one, but i am not sure. thanks a lot :)
I'm not quite sure I understand this question. Do you mean a gerund or an infinitive instead of noun? to be vs being? and do you mean 'after' not 'before'.
If this is the case you are right and the gerund follows, like the following examples set out.
There are many successful football teams in London, like (for example) Arsenal, Chelsea.
You can do many things at Universal Studios, like being a pirate on a boat...
If you have an argument with him there are many responses, like walking walking out of the room.
If you are confused about the question that says rang off, I would say this term is archaic and we don't use it anymore. Hang up is more common.
