Well Done T7s and T8s who have accessed the blog and read the presentation again. Your homework is the following: Write an article about a holiday destination you know well, giving details about what tourist can see and do there. Post it on this page. If you post it I will mark it. Up until Thursday, giving you extra access practice.
ReplyDeleteDo you like spending your summer holidays or just a weekend in a village nearby the beach? If you do, I think this would be your perfect holiday destination.
ReplyDeleteRota is situated in Cádiz, in the south of Spain. It's a small village where the houses are white, and you would never find traffic jams, therefore there aren't many cars, but you probably will have problems to find somewhere where you can park your car. Because of that, I think you should try to rent a garage or something like that, where it doesn't get damage.
Maybe you'll think it may be boring because of its small size, but it isn't. As I said before, you can spend time at the beach, just relaxing. Its nightlife isn't like British one, but you can go to many bars and discos, and there's also even an Irish pub! There's a great café where you can eat the most delicious ice-creams you ever ate, and you will be served by charming people, like everybody there. They're polite and nice, and as every single person who lives in Cádiz, they're quite funny.
As a conclusion, I'll say that you must go if you want to have a great and relaxing day in the beach. You won't regret.

Dear Elena this is good enough for the Access exam well done. The style is nice and you show nice tense control. There were a few mistakes, gerund and infinitive for example. Read below to see the corrected version.

Are you of those peopl who like spending their holidays visiting cities and learning new cultures? If you are, this would be you perfect holidays you've ever spend in your life.
ReplyDeleteSeville is a city situated in Andalucía, in the south of Spain.It is a very active city, it has a lot of public transports which are very useful and people are very kind, the will always help you if you need them.
Apart from that, Seville has a rich history which is reflected in the number of monuments that it has for example you can visit some museums, La Giralda, La Catedral, el barrio de Triana , la Torre del Oro... or if you prefer another way of visiting Seville is be more relaxed for example you can go to a park like el Alamillo where you can do a lot sports or sunbathing. Another option is to take a boat trip around the Guadalquivir's river which have beautiful sights.
In conclusion you won't get bored going even in the relaxing way or visiting all the monuments, it will be your best holiday !

DeleteFirst of all in the first paragraph check your spelling. Learning new cultures or learning about new cultures. Learning means learning everything and learning about means learning some information.
Second paragraph. Transport is it countable or uncountable? Also in the last sentence there seems to be a pronoun mistake.
Third paragraph. Instead of monuments write; cultural attractions or historic attractions. Maybe explain what they are as well for a better article.
Finally 'or if you prefer another way of visiting Seville is be more relaxed for example you can go to a park like el Alamillo where you can do a lot sports or sunbathing. Another option is to take a boat trip around the Guadalquivir's river which have beautiful sights.'
Change to 'if youprefer a more relaxing way to visit Seville, you can...'
Also 'has beautiful sights'. Overall this is ok but it's a good idea to explain what the attractions are to make it a better article. Also you could say which is the best option the relaxing or cultural one. With a little more detail you could raise your mark.

ReplyDeleteLondon is the capital city in the United Kingdom, London is located on the River Thames. London has two thousand years old and it had been place of some important historical moments. Londoners are very polite and kind people; if you need help, they will help you.
Some people say that London is a very stressful city but if you go, you will can check that it, it is false. If you like to meet new cultures, London is your perfect holidays destination; more than 300 languages are spoken there because a lot of ethnic groups, cultures and religions coexist day a day. London also is a very interesting place to visit, there are a lot of monuments there. You have to go to Big Ben Tower, to Westminster abbey or the Buckingham Palace, where the queen lives. If you like museums, London is your best choice. There are a plenty of them. If you want meeting succesful people, go to Madames Tussauds wax museum, there, you can take photos with your favorite singer or actor. If you like arts, you can go to the National Art Gallery or the Tate Modern. If you keen of history or archaeology go to the British Museum. In Bond street you can go shopping to Harrod's, Coco Channel, Carolina Herrera... Visit the famous Picadilly Circus square and get on The London Eye, one of the biggest big wheel in the world.
So if you really want have a good time and learn about new cultures, or simply enjoy your holidays, London is your perfect holiday destination. You will repeat it.

you will can - two verbs next to each other? after will infinitive.
London is your perfect holidays destination - in this case holiday is an adjective.

If you keen of history - preposition.
Do you want go on holiday to other differents countrys? or you prefer estay in a small village? If yo prefer travel around the world ,i have your solution.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have been thinking and you can go to Bora-Bora, this is an island where you can do a lot of differents activitys , which there are two types : The first is going with a relaxing plan , the second is go with your friends to partys, the beach..
Personality,i prefer the first because i want to be relax when i travel , i like go with a friend tha i get on well with he, and i can have a good time , although you can go to a party too.
As conclusion, if you go to this place don´t forget to take your camera because is the perfect place to take wonderfull photos.

DeleteFirst of all you should try and write a more detailed article. Now let's look at the mistakes.
1st paragraph: 'Do you want go on holiday to other differents countrys' adjectives are never plural in English and remember y becomes ies in plural spellings.
'I have a the place for you' would sound more natural in this context.
2nd paragraph - Again you can see an error with a plural adjective. Instead of two types I would say two main ways you can enjoy your holiday.
Again you can see the problem with spelling.
3rd paragraph - Make sure you write i as a capital I. Subject object pronouns he/him.
